Terminator II Sump-less Kit Accessory FAQ Area

1. Can I use the sump-less kit with other skimmers?

Answer: No, the kit is balanced and tested to operate with the Terminator II skimmer. We can not gaurantee the safety of using it with another product, you may cause a flood.

2. Can I make modifications in the installation of the system?

Answer: NO, we have spent a great deal of time testing the safety systems in the product to make every effort possible to insure that you will not have water on your floor. IT IS A MUST that you follow our instructions totally, including the system testing and maintenance areas.

3. Can I use a different pump other than the Pentair QuietOne 1200?

Answer: No, The QuietOne 1200 is the only pump at this time that we certify to work with this product. There may be others added in the future but not currently.

4. I seem to have problems getting the water to flow into the skimmer?

Answer: This can be caused by a couple of things. First, check your hose connections, make certain the water line connected to the electric valve is connected to the inlet on the skimmer and not the outlet of the QuietOne 1200 pump.

You may also have not primed the siphon properly. Make certain that all of the air is out of the siphon hose coming down from the electric valve. (for this it is best to go back to the instructions on how to start the unit up)

5. What maintenace should I perform?

Answer: We highly recomend that when you do your regular maintenance you include cleaning and inspecting the electric valve. There is an "O" ring in the valve seat that should be cleaned and lubricated with silicone grease. You may also wish to wipe any salt build up off the solenoid and you can wipe a light oil such as WD-40 on it to protect it. There is a nickle coating on it to protect it but a little care always helps. AGAIN PLEASE read your instructions on maintenance.

6. The electric valve feels very warm, is this normal?

Answer: Yes, the way the system works the valve is energized at all times to keep it open and water flowing. In an emergency such as a power failure, the valve closes stopping the flow of water. As a result of the full time use the coil will get warm.

7. I have an older Terminator skimmer (not Terminator II) can I use this kit?

Answer: Yes & No, The current kit in production is not compatible with the older units. The difference is in how the float switch installs. On the new units there is a threaded connector at the top of the side chamber. The recommended method is to purchase the side chamber as a part and this will upgrade older units so that the new kit will fit.
